Soul Reaping...
Fisrt things first, is it worth having high and what does it do. I have been hearing here and there that whenever a foe dies you get a certain amount of mana/energy and the higher soul reaping the more mana/energy you get...
Is this true, just an ability of Soul REaping skill or any other item or is it just false. |

Read the attribute description- for every rank you gain 1 energy when something dies near you.

To the OP, if you have Nightfall, get and bring Signet of Lost Souls. Nice energy and health gain from enemies at below 50% health. |

Nearby One of several distance notations in Guild Wars. This denotes larger than adjacent but smaller than in the area and is roughly 1/6 the size of your aggro bubble. Thank you for the correction. |

The description of soul reaping is misleading. The "nearby" range in GWs is actually less than the aggro bubble. Soul Reaping's area of affect, however, is larger than the aggro bubble. Or, since you posted the picture, the blue circle is the range of SR. Similar to spirit range. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Range |

Now I'm really confused! Isn't the aggro bubble the little shaded circle at the center? Are you saying SR range is actually beyond that? In other words, if a creature dies outside of that little shaded circle, will you still receive the SR benefit?
Man.. I wish they indicated the ranges on the actual minimap... |

Now that I re-re-read it, I get it.... you weren't incorrect Blade, sorry.
It just didn't make any sense at all to me at the time. Yes there is a GW standard 'nearby' and yes SR effect (although it's effect is described as nearby) does not use GW standard 'nearby' but instead uses it's own which is a much larger range. |
